Welcome to Rider’s Edge®, the Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling. Whether you're a two-wheeled novice or a seasoned road veteran, we can help you take the ride of your life.
Combining Maryland's Approved curriculum that meets or exceeds the standards established by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® with the passion of Harley-Davidson, the Rider's Edge New Rider Course offers hands-on instruction and real-road experience that can teach you the skills you need to get the most out of riding.
The Rider's Edge New Rider Course
is a proven blend of classroom instruction and range riding, the Rider's Edge New Rider Course delivers the basics of motorcycle operation in Harley-Davidson style. You’ll learn from devoted instructors certified by both the Motor Vehicle Adminstration (MVA) and Harley-Davidson to create a relaxed, supportive environment that fosters camaraderie and confidence.
If you meet the MVA's licensing standard,you will be issued a Maryland Motorcycle Safety Completion Certificate (for your class M license). You will also be issued a Maryland Motorcycle Safety Program Completion Card (which may quallify you for an insurance discount). But more than that you'll begin the journey of a lifetime...
You are required to attend all sessions.

 In the Rider's Edge® New Rider Course, you'll learn on the Buell® Blast®, a light weight, easy-to-
handle sportbike with a rider-friendly design. The mid-weight street bike that's easy-to-handle and a good starter bike that's a lot of fun out on the road. It comes with course-friendly features, such as two seat heights, hidden muffler, and a low center of gravity.
